neeeeearly 11 weeks

Hi guys. I am doing well. Nausea has all but gone. I'm able to eat a bit more normally - ventured out from toast and apples at long last - and I'm back to exercising regularly. I haven't put on any weight yet either, which is great as far as i'm concerned. Plus - my lenten commitment (guess who was brought up catholic) is to take all my vitamins everyday. Ha! Sounds easy to you guys - you haven't seen how frikken MASSIVE and scary they are. BLEGH. Anyway, I have my 12 week scan next Friday and after that I'll be telling people. Think it will be a relief!

The oxymoron, the irony, the dilemma

Undoubtedly due to the fact that I can still pretty much only stomach the odd piece of toast (muesli is BITTER, people, BITTER!!!) I have actually lost weight.

This is in spite of the fact that I have (apparently) a few extra litres of blood in my system and my boobs are SERIOUSLY up a size. No, I am not pleased by this in the least. They were perfectly healthy in size before. The last thing I need is growth in that department, particularly as I can FEEL it happening. HURTS LIKE HELL!!!

The oxymoron, the irony and the dilemma of it is that this is supposedly not a good thing. Weight loss when you're knocked up is a no no. But i can't help being slightly pleased. I know, I am a total candidate for the Bad Mommy's Blog ALREADY!
Anyway, I thought I'd be one of those people who lost all control and stuffed herself senseless but it is not to be. Even the toast this morning tasted blegh. I can't actually afford to be off toast - there's nothing left after that!!

scan and muesli

So I went for another scan yesterday. All good. Saw some legs. New due date is 19 September.

I am feeling a little better today and for the first time in 5 days i was able to eat something other than toast and salty cracks!! Who knew muesli could taste so adventurous!?

Compounded symptoms

So on Thursday I started with a sore throat. I have actually been in bed since then. I am never sick. Really,... do you remember me moaning about flu and such? Actually I'm one of those really irritating people who boasts about never being sick. Well no more. The cherry tomato (apparently that's the size now?) is obviously impacting on the immune system coz I have flu. WHO HAS FLU IN SUMMER??? me, clearly. And not mild, scratchy throat and the odd sneeze flu where you stay at home and eat nice stuff and watch great movies and generally live it up. Nope. Proper, lie groaning in bed, battle to concentrate on anything, bad dreams flu. The worst sort. ESPECIALLY seeing as the weather is beautiful.

But flu has gained a whole new meaning in my... er.... state. The flu seems to make morning sickness a whole lot worse. So now not only am I stuffy headed, sore throated, blocked nose and sinused, headachey and generally misluk (miserable for the non SAns), but I'm NAUSEOUS and I can't think about eating anything or gargling or anything. And I don't know that I can really take any medication. ugh.

To the Band's credit, he is one helluva nurse. Bless.

I am off to the baby doctor chick today for blood tests and another scan.Hopefully she prescribes something POTENT for me.

Being fabulous

In the last week or so (since I've been reading up a bit on 'my condition') I have decided that for the next while at least, no... scrap that... for ever I need to be FABULOUS. If my waist is going to start THICKENING in 2 weeks time (I will not cry, I will not cry, I will not cry - I will not lament the hours and hours I've spent at bootcamp waking up at 5am to get in shape. I won't.)then I may as well make full use of my best outfits in the meantime. The poor Band. I am looking HOT but for the first time in 3 years of marriage, the mojo is on the down low. haha.. i must actually make an effort. Usually I'm chasing the guy round the house. haha. joking people. But ya... hold me to it, ok?

last week wasn't great for me, but this week I am feeling hundreds again. It's weird! No nausea. No headaches. No heartburn. Not much peeing. The awful irony is that as soon as the bad symptoms aren't there you start mini-stressing that perhaps something's happened.

Also... aren't I supposed to be super emotional? I'm not. Not at all. I'm my usual droll self. In fact I don't think I had thought about it once today until I started with this post. I'm not going to start all the "does that make me a crap mom?" crap. If I do ever start with the Mom Guilt, shoot me.

Doing well....except that infernal yawning

Seriously, it's embarassing. I sit through meeting yawning my head off!
(Ok, that's not necessarily a completely new development...)

So this weekend I told my best mate. She is now driving me mad. Telling me all this stuff like I must keep my hand on my tummy - the baby can sense it, and should I really be eating white bread? and don't tan on your stomach - you're an incubator yuo know.

Between her and my mom ("One day when you're a mother, then you'll understand" AAARGH) they are driving me insane.
